Hello Invisible Fence Customers!

Wow, this is my first attempt to BLOG. I bet some of your bloggers have great tips for me. Feel free to advise.
I created this blog so that we can communicate and assist you with your dog and cat issues. I will be consulting with my vast list of vets, behavior experts, shelters and animal rescue facilities, Invisible Fence brand dealers and whoever else is needed to address the questions and concerns you have.
Id love to hear from you. First post: What do you think of your Invisible Fence brand system? What behaviors did you experience before you got the system, and what do you find is the greatest benefit of having an Invisible Fence?

We'll talk soon!
Carolyn

I tell everyone that our Invisible Fence is the best thing we've ever purchased. We purchased it after my lab puppy would venture on down to the neighbors' and chew up their stuff out in the yard.
The installation was quick and easy, and we got a great financing option on the fence system.
My lab, Chunk, hasn't left the yard since. Last October, we got an akita puppy. We got Mika on the Invisible Fence system as soon as she was old enough, and she's never gotten out either. (A few days ago there was a deer in the field surrounding our house. The dogs went crazy and took off running after it, but they stopped when they got close to the fence!) Our dogs get to have the freedom to play all day without being cooped up and are ready to relax when we get home from work. I don't have to pay for doggy daycare anymore!
I think the greatest benefit of having an Invisible Fence is knowing that my dogs are safe and sound and aren't getting into trouble or finding the road.
Thanks, Invisible Fence of Pittsburgh!

Teaching an old dog new tricks. Scooby is our 9 year old lab/ retriever/ spaniel (I think) mix. He was a pound puppy. When we got Scooby we had a small yard. We had him on a tie out in the back yard for 8 years. He was ok withit (it was 25 ft and he had almost full run form side to side of the yard), but the kids all had to be careful when he was out running around because the tie out could catch you on the ankle or calf and wipe you out. When the front or back door was opened you had to be careful because he would bolt out the door- nearly knocking you down. When we moved to Pennsylvania (North Huntingdon) our yard size doubled, so we talked about getting the fence. It has been absolutely wonderful. As an older dog he needs to be able to stretch his legs and exercise his hips and he can now. He has the full run of the yard, and has only left once (he followed us to the bus stop!) and it stops him when people are out walking and even walking their dogs. He is on a 2 setting and for a 65 lb dog, that's impressive. We love the fence and love being able to play ball with him- although he likes to play keep away. He no longer bolts out the door now. He will wait till you say "Ok, you can go." before he takes off out the door! If we have to move again, you can bet that we will get the invisible fence there too.
And my sister-in-law is looking into for their puppy. She was amazed at how well it worked for Scooby, and he was 9 years old and was able to learn. So thanks for teaching our old dog a new trick!
